Tumblr, I’m back.
Bob Marley and the Wailers - No Woman No Cry.
Because it’s summer and summer always needs a Bob Marley post.

I’m really excited for the possibility of a summer music festival with my friends. Coachella 2011 would be a dream (who would think otherwise?) but it’s in the middle of April, in the opposite side of the continent, and it’s in the middle of April. My friend and I are thinking Lollapalooza because they tend to have the second-best lineups and it’s in Chicago, which is not exactly East Coast but geographically and economically closer compared to California. Bonnaroo is in Tennessee which is in the Midwest, right? Then there’s always Osheaga in Montreal - which would be a perfect roadtrip destination. Right now, I cannot wait for these festivals to release their lineups. I’ve looked at past lineups and they’ve all made my heart race, so I’m not too worried. Of course, if Kanyesus were headlining a certain festival (besides Coachella - obvs) expect me to lose my shit, drop out of school, and Sal Paradise my way to America.
Anybody want to give me $5000?
My school’s offering this Cuba intensive program in 2011. It’s two weeks, you earn a full credit, and it’s in Havana, Cuba. You learn about sustainable development, the economy, the healthcare system, arts, politics, local culture, and the perks and downsides of socialism - I suppose. I want to gooooooooooo.
I hope the mysterious Lotto winner funds me, just by the mere fact that we are both Filipino. Don’t we celebrate those intimate connections?
While in Ottawa, we stayed at my parents’ friends’ house. Since we were moving farther away from the coast, the summer temperature was only continuing to rise. They had one of those above-ground pools and so Patrick took advantage - of the pool to beat the heat and my camera to affirm his vanity. We had a photo shoot where I had him smize with half his face submerged in water. I had him go underwater and contort his body into graceful, ballerina-like positions. And I had him flip his (lack of) hair to do that iconic Sport’s Illustrated Swimsuit Edition hair flip.
Sometimes, I wish I had a sister.
Quebec City (L-R): 1. A park in Levi overlooking the St. Lawrence River and neighbouring Quebec City, 2. Seafood pasta, 3. Délice Resto Lounge, 4. My dad, mom, and younger brother in front of a mural in Old Quebec, 5. The narrow streets and quaint shops of Old Quebec, 6. A church in Levi, 7. Pretty buildings and restaurants, 8. Mom and dad, 9. Château Frontenac.
I can’t believe summer’s almost over.
